The Cava Kripta from the renowned Agustí Torelló Mata winery represents the top quality of Spanish sparkling wines and is an excellent choice for special occasions or for wine lovers who want to experience an exquisite cava.
This exceptional sparkling wine is a creation of 45% Macabeu (whose vineyard was planted in 1962), 20% Xarel.lo (whose vineyard was planted in 1974) and 35% Parellada (from vineyards from 1969). Macabeu gives the Cava finesse, elegance and notes of white fruit, while Xarel.lo provides alcoholic strength, body and structure. Finally, the Parellada grape variety guarantees aromatic density, acidity and tropical notes.
Cava Kripta is produced using the traditional method of bottle fermentation, which is also used for champagne. This method involves a second fermentation in the bottle, resulting in a fine perlage and complex flavour development.
It has a wonderfully intense aroma of baked apple, ripe apples (Golden Delicious) and brioche. There are also subtle notes of toast. On the palate, the Spanish sparkling wine is dry and wonderfully creamy-soft, with a lively acidity and a very long finish.
Cava Kripta is produced in limited quantities, which emphasises its exclusivity and status as a premium cava.
